Mourned by the Nation
The deaths the country stopped for
Most of the days on Requiem are days of violence or disaster: an attack, a fire, a collapse, a war. A few deaths fit none of them, and still the country stopped. The armed forces, which bury their own, buried someone who was not.
This page holds those people. The test for a place here is an act of the nation itself, not grief alone: a state or military funeral, a proclamation, flags lowered by order, a burial at sea by the Navy. Many are grieved. These are the ones the nation answered for.
