Their life
Sergeant Theresa Foiles died as a result of cancer that she developed following her assignment to the search and recovery efforts at the World Trade Center site following the 9/11 Terrorist Attacks.
Sergeant Foiles has served with the New York City Police Department for 21 years. She was survived by her five brothers, two sisters, 21 nieces and nephews, and 15 great-nieces and nephews. Her grandparents, uncles, and brothers also served with the NYPD.
