Their life
Sergeant, United States Army, an assistant in the office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Personnel.
She enlisted out of high school and served in Bosnia, Korea and Germany. She was twenty-five, and she loved basketball and music.
Her mother, talking about her afterwards, kept slipping between tenses. She was such a sweet - is such a sweet girl. I was very proud of her. I am very proud of her.
In the house at Brewton where she grew up, her family kept a vigil: candles lit inside, a flag outside.
How they died
Killed at the Pentagon on the morning of 11 September 2001, when American Airlines flight 77 struck the western face of the building at 9:37. A hundred and twenty-five people inside and fifty-nine aboard the aircraft were killed.
