The Years After

Police Officer Ronald Weintraub died of Cholangiocarcinoma (cancer of the bile ducts) which he contracted as a result of recovery work performed at Ground Zero, the site of the World Trade Center attack.

During his work at Ground Zero, Officer Weintraub inhaled various toxins which were present in the air, which led to the onset of Cholangiocarcinoma and eventually to his death.

Officer Weintraub had served with the New York City Police Department for 15 years, and is survived by his wife and two children.

You walked into it and it took years to finish the job.
