Their life
Police Officer Richard Jakubowsky died from illnesses caused by inhaling toxic materials while participating in the rescue and recovery efforts at the World Trade Center site following the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
Officer Jakubowsky was assigned to the Transit Bureau Bronx Task Force and had served with the New York City Police Department for 20 years.
