Maria V. Rueda

A New York City EMT for thirty-one years. She died of an illness she got at the World Trade Center, twenty-five years after the towers came down, and she is one of more than four hundred and fifty members of the department the dust has taken - more than were killed on the day itself. The department announced her death on or about 23 September 2026 and did not state the date she died. Her viewing and service were held at Fort Totten on 9 October 2026.
