badge.nw↗Police Officer Judy Ghany-Barounis died as the result of cancer that she developed following her assignment to the search and recovery efforts at the World Trade Center site following the 9/11 Terrorist Attacks.
Officer Ghany-Barounis had served with the NYPD for 15 years. She is survived by her husband, two children, and three siblings. Her son also serves with the NYPD.
You walked into it and it took years to finish the job.
Police Officer Ghany-Barounis gave the New York City Police Department 15 years.
Thank you for your service to the New York community. Gone but never to be forgotten.
