Their life
Detective Joseph Roman died as the result of illnesses that he developed following his assignment to the search and recovery efforts at the World Trade Center site following the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001.
Detective Roman served with the New York City Police Department for 20 years and was assigned to the 83rd precinct, Manhattan District Attorney's Squad.

He is survived by his two daughters.
