Information Systems Technician First Class, United States Navy, fourteen years in the service.

His wife said he loved everything about it - that it was his family too. He enlisted at Fort Jackson in August 1986 and served aboard the Whidbey Island, the Aubrey Fitch, the Independence and the Stark, and travelled from Japan to Jacksonville to Russia and Australia. He came to the office of the Chief of Naval Operations in June 1999.

He came home from far ports with a t-shirt or some memento for his wife and stepchildren every time. She said he always knew how much she loved t-shirts, and he never forgot.

He looked after the sailors under him the same way - a little cash, a lift, some advice. His wife said she had calls from across the world afterwards from people he had touched.

He had recently started criminology classes at the University of the District of Columbia and was thinking of becoming a state trooper. She said he was so full of life, and excited for what was about to come.

Killed at the Pentagon on the morning of 11 September 2001, when American Airlines flight 77 struck the western face of the building at 9:37. A hundred and twenty-five people inside and fifty-nine aboard the aircraft were killed.

His wife Andrea and his stepchildren Anthony and Lydeda.
