Their life
Lieutenant John Zonneveld died as the result of cancer that he developed following his assignment to the search and recovery efforts at the World Trade Center site following the 9/11 Terrorist Attacks.
Lieutenant Zonneveld had served 31 years with the New York City Police Department. He was blocks away when the towers fell and worked over 400 hours at Ground Zero in the days that followed.
Survived by
Lieutenant Zonneveld is survived by his wife, four children, sister, and brother.
