Police Officer Gary Mausberg died from illnesses caused by inhaling toxic materials while participating in the rescue and recovery efforts at the World Trade Center site, following the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
Officer Mausberg was a U.S Navy veteran who had served with the New York City Police Department for 15 years and was assigned to the 73rd Precinct.
