Trooper First Class Eugene Baron died as the result of cancer contracted while assisting with rescue and recovery efforts at the World Trade Center site following the terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001.
Trooper Baron had served with the Connecticut State Police for 18 years prior to medically retiring.
You walked into it and it took years to finish the job.
Trooper First Class Baron gave the Connecticut State Police 18 years.
Thank you for your service to the people of Connecticut. Gone but never to be forgotten.
