Correctional Officer III Charles Harris died from complications as the result of contracting COVID-19 in the line of duty.
Officer Harris had served with the North Carolina Department of Public Safety - Division of Adult Correction and Juvenile Justice for 13-1/2 years and was assigned to the Foothills Correctional Institute.

He is survived by his wife and two sons.
