Police Chief Buddy Crabtree died from complications as the result of contracting COVID-19 in the line of duty.
Chief Crabtree had served with the Ider Police Department for 10 years and had previously served with the Bridgeport Police Department.

He is survived by his wife, four children, and eight grandchildren.
