An accountant at the Pentagon, under the Secretary of the Army, Resource Management.
She was born on the seventh of November 1943 to Jobe and Ida Mae Davis, the eldest of ten, and helped raise her brothers and sisters before she had children of her own. She and her husband Nolton had four.
She worked thirty-one years in government service, beginning as an accounting technician and becoming a full accountant after taking her degree, and had been at the Pentagon for over six years. She put off retirement twice to be sure her successor was ready for the job.
She meant her children to go to college. Her family say it was never a question of whether - it was something she would provide.
They remember her creativity, her patience, her strong will, and her vigour for life.
Survived by
Her husband Nolton, her children Zenovia, Yolanda, Rosslyn and Christopher, her grandchildren Brenden and Bethany, and her sisters Christine, Sue and Georgia and brothers William, Norris and Philip.
