In memory of
Itzhak Balti
Their story
Itzhak Balti, born in Ofakim, had the blessing of raising a family with three children: two daughters and a son. During the terror attack on Simchat Torah, he demonstrated remarkable bravery and saved people. Initially considered missing, he was laid to rest five days later in the Ofakim cemetery.
On a Saturday morning, when he heard gunshots, Itzhak Balti left his home to protect his neighbors and the city. Tragically, he was shot and killed in the alley near HaGoren Street, alongside Police Officer Avi Bozaglo. His heroic actions and selfless sacrifice were deeply cherished by his family and the community. His daughter wrote, "My father, my king, my oxygen, what a hero you are, how brave you are, you are my pride, how you protected the residents with your body without thinking of yourself." May his soul rest in peace.
