John D. Bell.
Officer Jack Bell succumbed to injuries he received when he was in a motorcycle crash while responding to a burglary call at 2:00 pm. It was the second burglar call at the same address, and four officers were responding to the alarm. Officer Bell was traveling east on Fourth Street when another vehicle attempted to yield the right of way to another police vehicle on Commerce Street. The driver failed to see Officer Bell's motorcycle and struck him at the intersection. Officer Bell was transported to City-County Hospital and then moved to Protestant Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries the following day. Officer Bell was a United States Navy WWI veteran.

I served 1985 to 1993. You served too, before the badge - different uniform, same idea. You go where you are sent and you do not get to pick the call.
Officer Bell served with the Fort Worth Police Department.
Thank you for your service to the Fort Worth community, and for your service before it. Gone but never to be forgotten.
Rest easy, brother.
— S. Vincent Anthony, U.S. Army 1985-1993
