John A. Maslach.
Undersheriff John Maslach and Sheriff George Barra were killed when their patrol car was struck by a car traveling in the wrong direction on U.S. 95 near Beatty, Nevada.
Three of the seven family members in the other car were also killed.

I served 1985 to 1993. You served too, before the badge - different uniform, same idea. You go where you are sent and you do not get to pick the call.
Undersheriff Maslach served with the Nye County Sheriff's Office.
Thank you for your service to the Tonopah community, and for your service before it. Gone but never to be forgotten.
