Goelet Alessandro Carlo Beuf.
Officer Beuf responded to a call where a suspicious man was loitering on the roadside. When the suspect saw the officer approaching he ran. Officer Beuf pursued the suspect and caught him on the side of the roadway. As the two struggled, they fell into the path of a slow moving tractor-trailer. The trailer stopped, but Officer Beuf and the suspect were entangled in the front axle. Officer Beuf was airlifted to a local hospital where he died of his injuries. The suspect was sentenced to four years in jail for his role in the death.

I served 1985 to 1993. You served too, before the badge - different uniform, same idea. You go where you are sent and you do not get to pick the call.
Police Officer Beuf gave the Phoenix Police Department 1 year.
Thank you for your service to the Phoenix community, and for your service before it. Gone but never to be forgotten.
Rest easy, brother.
— S. Vincent Anthony, U.S. Army 1985-1993
