Robert Young Clement.
Officer Clement, Officer Stillwell and Officer Hough were attempting to serve an arrest warrant. Upon entering the house shots were exchanged and Officer Clement was struck in the abdomen, neck, and torso. Officer Clement remained in a rehabilitation center, confined to a wheelchair. In June of 1999, he underwent surgery that would have helped him walk again. Officer Clements died from complications from the surgery. The suspect committed suicide during the stand-off with police.

I served 1985 to 1993. You served too, before the badge - different uniform, same idea. You go where you are sent and you do not get to pick the call.
Police Officer Clement gave the Spencer Police Department 7 years.
Thank you for your service to the Spencer community, and for your service before it. Gone but never to be forgotten.
