Eugene L. Young.
Lieutenant Eugene Young suffered a fatal heart attack shortly after subduing a probation violator who was being taken into custody at the Oklahoma City Probation and Parole Office. When the man was told his probation was being revoked, he began to resist violently, and it took five officers to subdue him. Shortly thereafter, Lieutenant Young collapsed. He was taken to Presbyterian Hospital where he died. Lieutenant Young was a United States Army Korean War veteran.

I served 1985 to 1993. You served too, before the badge - different uniform, same idea. You go where you are sent and you do not get to pick the call.
Lieutenant Young served with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections.
Thank you for your service to the people of Oklahoma, and for your service before it. Gone but never to be forgotten.
Rest easy, brother.
— S. Vincent Anthony, U.S. Army 1985-1993
