John Robert McCravey. John served during the years of the Vietnam War and the Cold War.
Border Patrol Agent John McCravey succumbed to injuries sustained in an automobile crash three days earlier while chasing a vehicle suspected of transporting smuggled aliens around 7:00 a.m. The vehicle he was chasing caused dust to be kicked up, possibly blocking Agent McCravey's visibility. His patrol car overturned and became submerged in the All-American Canal near Calexico, California. Fellow officers and citizens helped free Agent McCravey and the three prisoners he had in his patrol car from the vehicle. He was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries three days later. Agent McCravey was a United States Army Vietnam War and Hawaii Air National Guard veteran and had served with the United States Department of Justice - Immigration and Naturalization Service - United States Border Patrol for one year.

I served 1985 to 1993. You served too, before the badge - different uniform, same idea. You go where you are sent and you do not get to pick the call.
Border Patrol Agent McCravey gave the United States Department of Justice 1 year.
Thank you for your service. Gone but never to be forgotten.
Rest easy, brother.
— S. Vincent Anthony, U.S. Army 1985-1993
