Robert Jack Garrison served in the U.S. Army.
Trooper Bob Garrison was killed instantly from a skull fracture he suffered in a traffic accident at about 6:40 pm on State Road 67 in Delaware County. While responding to a report that a child had been bitten by a dog, Trooper Garrison swerved to avoid hitting a vehicle in front of him and struck a tow truck. The car, occupied by numerous teenagers, had stopped to make a left-hand turn. Trooper Garrison had served with the Indiana State Police for over four years and was assigned to the Pendleton post. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War and served as a military policeman.

I served 1985 to 1993. You served too, before the badge - different uniform, same idea. You go where you are sent and you do not get to pick the call.
Trooper Garrison gave the Indiana State Police 4 years.
Thank you for your service to the people of Indiana, and for your service before it. Gone but never to be forgotten.
Rest easy, brother.
— S. Vincent Anthony, U.S. Army 1985-1993
