William David Corn served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Officer William Corn was shot and killed as he stood in the recreation room of the Kopenhaven Apartments, at 3797 Lavista Road in Tucker, while working a secondary employment. He was shot three times, including one shot from his own service weapon. The suspect(s) then stole Officer Corn's weapon. I served 1985 to 1993. You served too, before the badge - different uniform, same idea. You go where you are sent and you do not get to pick the call.
Officer Corn gave the DeKalb County Police Department 3 years.
Thank you for your service to the Tucker community, and for your service before it. Gone but never to be forgotten.
Rest easy, brother.
— S. Vincent Anthony, U.S. Army 1985-1993
