Biography
Maria Toledo (Maria Helena de Toledo), brazilian singer and composer, widower of Luiz Bonfá, was born in Belo Horizonte/MG (Jun 30, 1937). At 10 y.o. she formed a duo with hes sister, Rosana Toledo. First recording: "Me leva pra longe" (with Luiz Bonfá), na RCA, em 1960. Entre seus parceiros, destacam-se Baden Powell, Chico Feitosa e Geraldo Vespar. In USA, for where moved in 1962, recorded 3 LPs: "Maria Toledo sings Bonfá" (label United Artists), 1962; "Jazz Samba Encore" (with Stan Getz; Verve, 1963); and Braziliana (with Luiz Bonfá and Bob Scott, 1965).
