Biography
Following on from his 60's band "Manfred Mann"(1962-1969), and then "Manfred Mann Chapter Three" ( a British experimental jazz rock band of Mann's formed in 1969 that released two albums), Manfred Mann's Earth Band are an English rock band formed by South African musician Manfred Mann in 1971.Making music in the ''progressive rock'' vein, the band's hits include covers of Bruce Springsteen's "For You", "Blinded by the Light" and "Spirit in the Night". After forming in 1971 and despite a short hiatus in the late 1980s/early 1990s, the Earth Band continues to perform and tour through the present.
