Biography

Aimer (pronounced eh-meh) is a Japanese recording artist signed to Sony Music Japan. Aimer was exposed to music from an early age. She played piano in elementary school and quickly picked up the guitar in junior high. Aimer also writes music in English and has a good command of the language from her experiences living abroad.

On September 7, 2011, Aimer released a triple A-side single "六等星の夜/悲しみはオーロラに/TWINKLE TWINKLE LITTLE STAR". The song "六等星の夜" is being used as the ending theme for the Fuji TV anime series "NO.6". Aimer's second single, "Re: pray/寂しくて眠れない夜は", was released on December 14, 2011. The song "Re: pray" was chosen as the ending theme for the anime "BLEACH".

The single includes a cover of Lady Gaga's "Poker Face". The song was previously featured in Aimer's "Your favorite things", a cover album that was released during her indie era. She received rave reviews from the fans after performing the song during a live broadcast on USTREAM, which led her to include it in her new single. Her third single, "雪の降る街/冬のダイヤモンド", is to be released on February 22, 2012.

The Groove
Groove by decade

The Groove is music.nw’s own measure of renown — not an opinion, a fact computed from the record. It weighs reach (how many people engaged) against acclaim (how highly they rated it), balanced so a handful of votes can’t outshout a lasting favourite.

Computed the NeuraWeb way, across the whole record. The same yardstick for everyone — which is why the little-known can out-Groove the famous in their own corner.
