Biography

Abacus is a German rock band. In January 1971 Chris Barutzky, Charly Schade, Klaus Kohlhase and Felix Hans the band Abacus. The name is based on the Greek / Roman board game abacus. After 3 months of songwriting, they were the first time at a pop festival in Langselheim (resin), and thus attracted the attention of the label Polydor up. In August of the same year they took there on the first LP "Abacus". After several performances, among others on television, they took after a personnel change on the second LP "Just A Day's Journey Away". In 1976 the band split due to musical differences, but the creative engine, bassist Klaus Kohlhase, founded in 1979, the band again with other members, and a recording contract with EMI
