Matthew Stauffer practices in real property, probate and trust law, civil and probate litigation, administrative law, and constitutional law. He brings to the courtroom a career spent at the intersection of national service and detailed legal analysis.
Before law, Matthew served more than twenty years in the U.S. Army. He rose from Private to Sergeant First Class, earned his Ranger Tab, and completed Special Forces qualification at the John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School to wear the Green Beret. He is a combat veteran decorated with both the Combat Infantryman Badge and the Combat Action Badge. After Officer Candidate School — where he was the Col. Aaron Nett Distinguished Leadership Graduate — he commissioned as a U.S. Army officer and served in Stuttgart, Germany, as Signal Detachment Commander and Executive Officer of a Special Forces Company.
Matthew earned his juris doctor from Ave Maria School of Law in Naples, where he made the Dean's List, served on the Moot Court Board, and published in the school's moot court journal. His practice is grounded in close reading of the United States and Florida Constitutions and a conviction that individual rights to liberty, property, and contract are foundational to a free society.
