Ramon "Ray" Miguel Prendes
August 10, 1963 — April 12, 2024
A devoted husband, father, brother, mentor, and friend who measured his success not by transactions closed, but by the lasting relationships he built.
A Life Well Lived
Ray Prendes brought warmth, wisdom, and an unwavering commitment to integrity to everything he touched—from the boardroom to the baseball diamond.
Born in 1963, Ray discovered his calling in commercial real estate in 1992, beginning a career that would span nearly three decades. As Broker of Record and Owner of CRES of Florida in Tampa, he became known not just for his expertise in office space, industrial buildings, and land investments, but for the way he put his clients' needs above all else.
Ray was fluent in both English and Spanish, a skill that allowed him to serve a diverse community throughout the greater Tampa Bay area. But his greatest language was kindness—spoken through patience, mentorship, and an ever-present willingness to guide others toward their success.

Words of Remembrance
Ray never left any questions unanswered and always responded promptly. I would highly recommend him. He was extremely patient with my thousand questions as this was my first commercial buying experience. A process that can be quite stressful was made pleasant and timely thanks to Ray.
Ray was extremely knowledgeable and professional, but more than that he was patient with our indecision, walking us through the negotiations every step of the way. Even though we decided not to sell the property—meaning no commission for Ray—he realized that the decision to hold was right for us. We were so impressed with his ethics.
He found fulfillment in his real estate career and enjoyed mentoring others. His generosity and volunteerism was well known—from his years as little league coach, to serving as PTC president, to mentoring his son's Robotics team. Ray measured his personal success by the long-term relationships he developed.
Forever in Our Hearts
Ray is survived by his loving spouse Marlene, his adored sons Alex and Daniel, his brothers Carlos Acosta and Peter Prendes, mother-in-law Caridad Gonzalez, brother and sister-in-law Jose and Mariela Gonzalez, nephews Jason and Michael Acosta, and nieces Maricela and Victoria Gonzalez.
Ray was a proud Tampa Bay Rays and Bucs fan who cherished time spent with family and friends in Redington Shores. He leaves behind a legacy of love, integrity, and service that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
