Incident
Chief of Police George Bacorn was killed in a head-on vehicle crash on Dover Road in Easton.
Around 11:26 a.m., Chief Bacorn was traveling eastbound in his agency-owned vehicle when a westbound delivery truck sideswiped another eastbound truck and then struck Chief Bacorn's vehicle head-on.

Predeceased by his parents, George William Bacorn Sr. and Shirley Carol Rogers Bacorn. Survived by his wife, Charmaine M. Bacorn; his sons James C. Bacorn, Joseph L. Bacorn (Crystal), Christopher Bacorn (Brittney), Michael W. Bacorn (Alyssa) and Jack C. Bacorn; his sister Diane Brittingham (Will); his grandchildren Kayla, Jaidyn, Austin, Hayden, Cheyenne, Liam, Piper, Braxton, Ellie, Evelyn, Beau, Sawyer and Mackenzie; his great-grandchildren Melody, DJ and Cassandra; and many nieces.
Biography
Born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, he moved to Caroline County as a child, grew up in Greensboro and graduated from North Caroline High School in Ridgely in 1982. Beyond the department he was a member of the Denton Volunteer Fire Company, a past Commodore of the Choptank River Yacht Club, and a member of Temple Lodge #128 AF&AM.
