For years, video platforms have tried to help creators migrate their content from YouTube through server-to-server transfer tools. The most prominent example is Rumble, which built a YouTube Sync feature in 2021 that automatically pulled creator videos from YouTube to Rumble's servers. The tool worked for two years before Google began blocking the syncs in fall 2023 without warning or communication.
Rumble reported that Google's actions significantly reduced the average number of hours of video uploaded to their platform each day. Despite requests through legal channels, YouTube would not confirm if or when access would be restored.
The situation escalated into two federal antitrust lawsuits. Rumble's first suit, filed in January 2021, alleged Google rigged search results to favor YouTube and forced Android manufacturers to pre-install YouTube. A second suit filed in May 2024 sought injunctive relief and damages exceeding $1 billion, targeting Google's advertising monopoly.
In May 2025, a federal judge dismissed Rumble's first case on statute of limitations grounds — years of litigation and millions in legal fees, dismissed without the court ever reaching the substance of the antitrust claims. As of today, Rumble's sync tool remains broken, with creators reporting persistent errors when attempting to link their YouTube accounts.

Once videos are in NeuraDrive, they are stored with full Single Source of Truth (SSOT) metadata — original upload dates, descriptions, titles, and attribution are preserved.
