Add The New York Post on Google An ABC News correspondent was seen diving for safety in the middle of a standup on the North Lawn of the White House when dozens of gunshots rang out Saturday night.
Veteran reporter Selina Wang was filming a report from the building’s Pebble Beach area for reporters on her iPhone before ducking for cover — her eyes bulging in panic.
The chaos erupted near the fenced perimeter around 17th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue Northwest as Secret Service took down a gunman who opened fire outside the facility’s gate.
“I was in the middle of taping on my iPhone for a social video from the White House North Lawn when we heard the shots,” said Wang on X.
“It sounded like dozens of gunshots. We were told to sprint to the press briefing room where we are holding now.”
