OSHUN

Atypical duo formed by two 20-year-old girls (Niambi Sala and Thandiwe) from Washington and living in New York, OSHUN takes its name from a tribute to the Yoruba goddess (Osun) of the river and her sisters Iyemoja and Oya who represent femininity. Which reminds us of the project of the two sisters of Ibeyi . The goal of the two friends? Share the divine and peaceful omnipresence of Osun with the greatest number. As for their music, they themselves call it Iya-sol: a crossbreeding between their spiritual universe, neo-soul and hip-hop which draws links between Floetry, Lauryn Hill and Chief Keef. Far from being the head of a sect, OSHUN is part of a cultural movement that can sometimes seem idealistic. A little hippie side of the 21st century whose slogan would take the very famous Respect Yourself of the Staple Singers.
