Matt Skiba and The Sekrets (which includes Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio, Jarrod Alexander of My Chemical Romance on drums and Hunter Burgan of AFI on bass)
The new group's debut disc Babylon arrives on May 8 through Superball Music. Described in a press release as Skiba's solo venture, the album purportedly takes influence from Alkaline Trio's trademark pop punk sound, but is also said to pull from '80s post-punk, which by the looks of that promo shot above may mean Adam Ant and Bow Wow Wow.
The ten-song set was recorded by Cameron Webb (Social Distortion, 30 Second to Mars) and is full of "addictively dancy rock and sing-along melodies." Song samples have yet been delivered, but you can check the tracklisting below.
