What Happened
Firefighter of the Fire Department of the City of New York, who died of an illness from the rescue and recovery at the World Trade Center. The department added the name to its World Trade Center Memorial Wall at the ceremony of 08 September 2011. He died on 30 April 2003, aged 53.
Biography
Firefighter Robert Woodrow Dillon, 53, of the Fire Department City of New York – Engine 153, died on April 30, 2003, from illness related to response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. He was the beloved husband of Josie O’Connell Dillon and the devoted brother of Kathy Rusciano, Linda Hanna, Joan Reil, John, and Kevin. He was also survived by his loving stepmother, Trudy Dillon, and eight nieces and nephews.
