Firefighter of the Fire Department of the City of New York, who died of an illness from the rescue and recovery at the World Trade Center. Died on 27 January 2017, at the age of 56. The Fire Department has not published a release naming this member among the additions to its World Trade Center Memorial Wall, so no inscription is claimed here.
Biography
Firefighter Robert F. DiGiovanni, age 56, of the Fire Department City of New York – Ladder 144, died on January 27, 2017, from illness related to response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. He served as a firefighter in New York City for the FDNY from 1990 to 2005. His illness from the cleanup at Ground Zero was detected in 2003. He loved being a fireman, and he loved the city of New York. He died in 2017, leaving his wife and two children.
