What Happened
Firefighter of the Fire Department of the City of New York, who died of an illness from the rescue and recovery at the World Trade Center. The department added the name to its World Trade Center Memorial Wall at the ceremony of 06 September 2023. He died on 05 December 2022, aged 75.
Biography
Firefighter Michael J. Arriaga, age 75, of the Fire Department City of New York – Engine 301, died on December 5, 2022, from illness related to response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. Michael dedicated 38 years to the Fire Department of New York and to the people of New York. Michael was a U.S. Navy veteran. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Denise; their beautiful daughter, Denise; family, friends, former colleagues at Engine 301, and the emergency crew at Paidge Avenue.
