What Happened
Killed at the World Trade Center on the morning of 11 September 2001. The first aircraft struck the north tower at 8:46 and the second the south tower at 9:03; the south tower came down at 9:59 and the north at 10:28. Two thousand seven hundred and fifty-three people were killed there.
Biography
Badge number 2315. On the morning of the eleventh he was on rotation to Engine 40 and Ladder 35 in Manhattan from his own house, Engine 62 and Ladder 32 in the Bronx. The seventh of ten children, a soccer captain at Cardinal Spellman, a scuba diver, a disc jockey who worked charity events for nothing, and a coach of children's soccer.
Before he joined the department he worked at Dean Witter in the World Trade Center, and told colleagues still shaken by the 1993 bombing that if it ever happened again he would come back for them as a firefighter. He did.
He was two months from his wedding to Stephanie Luccioni. When he was found on the twenty-first of March he had either been carrying a woman or shielding her with his bunker coat.
