What Happened
Firefighter of the Fire Department of the City of New York, who died of an illness from the rescue and recovery at the World Trade Center. The department added the name to its World Trade Center Memorial Wall at the ceremony of 14 September 2022. He died on 15 March 2022, aged 65.
Biography
Firefighter Gregory J. LaManna, age 65, of the Fire Department City of New York – Engine 313, died at home on March 15, 2022, from illness related to response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. A resident of Sayville, New York, Gregory left this world as a hero and a pillar of many lives. His courage, generosity, and love for others is an example followed by many. He was survived by his beautiful wife, Margaret, and three sons, Anthony, Gregory, and Daniel. He was the “Papi” of five amazing grandchildren, Anthony, Jackson, Greyson, Gregory, and Dahlia. He was the brother of Curtis and Christopher. His compassion for those he loved was felt by all.
