What Happened
Lieutenant of the Fire Department of the City of New York, who died of an illness from the rescue and recovery at the World Trade Center. The department added the name to its World Trade Center Memorial Wall at the ceremony of 06 September 2023. He died on 05 January 2022, aged 77.
Biography
Cookie started his FDNY career in Ladder 114, “Tallyho,” right out of probie school. He worked there for 18 years and loved every minute of it. All he talked about was the firehouse and the guys he worked with. He made lieutenant and was assigned to Engine 71, “The War Wagon.” He loved working with the guys and his time spent in the Bronx. Next, he went to Marine 9, the boats, where he worked until he retired. He was a member of the Emerald Society and the Viking Society. His second love was always the FDNY and the guys he worked with.
