Patrolman Gregory Bailey was accidentally shot and killed inside the police station when another officer's gun was accidentally discharged at 3 am. He was a West Virginia Air National Guard veteran and had served with the Dunbar Police Department for 1 year.

He is survived by his parents and four sisters.
