Incident

Deputy Aquino was killed when he was struck by a pickup truck while standing next to his patrol car. He was investigating a shots fired call at the time of the accident. The 27-year-old driver of the pickup truck was found to be under the influence and six months later was convicted of second degree negligent homicide and hit and run negligent homicide. He was sentenced to four years in prison and five years probation. He was paroled in November of 1993. Deputy Aquino had served with the agency for 5 years.

Survivors

He is survived by his three daughters, fiancée, parents, brother, and three sisters.
