Incident
Patrolman Grant Dosch was shot and killed by several suspects who he surprised breaking into a general store at 754 West Washington Avenue. His body was found laying in the snow near the store. Three suspects were arrested and charged with Patrolman Dosch's murder. They were acquitted on April 18, 1919.

Patrolman Dosch was survived by his wife and two children.
