Incident
Night Warden Charlie Masury succumbed to complications from a cerebral hemorrhage while on duty at the Windsor Prison at 570 State Farm Road in Windsor.
On the morning of March 17, 1941, around 5:00 a.m., Night Warden Masury suffered a medical emergency and was transported to the prison hospital. He passed away two days later.
Night Warden Masury had served for 12 years with the Vermont Department of Corrections at the Windsor Prison and had held the position of night warden for nine years.
He is buried at the Rochester Cemetery in Rochester, Stafford County, New Hampshire.
The Windsor Prison was renamed Southeast State Correctional Facility and permanently closed in 2017.
