Biography
Deputy First Class Justin JaCory Payne was a proud member of the Loudoun County Sheriff’s office for 14 years. In the early morning of August 7, 2019, at the age of 38 he took his own life. During his time with the Sheriff’s Office he was a patrol deputy, SWAT team member, and a school resource officer. Justin had a huge heart and he loved the work that he did. He formed some really deep friendships with his coworkers over the years and made a huge impact on the lives of some of the students that he worked with as a school resource officer. Justin loved his family. As a husband, he always made me feel like the most beautiful girl in the world. We were best friends, we shared the same twisted sense of humor and shared so many private jokes. I learned a lot from him in the almost five years we were married and I will forever be thankful for the time we had together. Justin loved his daughter more than anything in the world. He was so incredibly proud of how smart, talented and beautiful she is and would brag about her any chance he got. Justin had a very close relationship with his mother, father, aunts, uncles, cousins and his grandmother, he has a huge family. He would do anything for them and they were always there for him. Justin was seeking help for his issues and had been diagnosed with PTSD. I would like to thank the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office for the services that they did make available. I only wish that Justin would have taken advantage of all of the services that were offered. Justin was a strong, proud man, you have to be in that profession. I hope that in the future with all of the efforts being made to help first responders who are struggling, that the stigma that is associated with accepting help is broken down so that people can be reached before it is too late. Thank you Blue Help for allowing me to create this memorial page to keep my husband’s memory alive.
