Incident
Officer Robert Hill was killed when his patrol car was struck by another vehicle that was fleeing from another crash that had just occurred. The fleeing vehicle struck the back of Officer Hill's patrol car, which was stopped at a red light at the intersection of Granby Street and Bayview Boulevard, causing it to erupt in flames. Officer Hill was unable to exit the vehicle and died at the scene. The fleeing driver also died in the crash.
Survivors
Officer Hill was survived by his wife and five children.
