Incident
Marshal Lee was shot and killed by a man he attempted to arrest for vagrancy at a restaurant on Postoffice Street. The suspect and his son were shot and killed by a large number of angry citizens about a mile outside of town.
City Marshal Lee, On today, the 110th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of El Campo. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
