Howard Wayne Jordan
Incident
Trooper Howard Jordan was struck and killed by a vehicle as he and another trooper conducted a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 59 north of Atlanta, Texas, at about 11:00 pm. Trooper Jordan had served with the Texas Department of Public Safety for 10 years and was stationed in Texarkana. He was survived by his wife, son, daughter, parents, and sister. In March 2024 a section of U.S. Highway 67 was renamed the Trooper Howard Jordan Memorial Highway in his honor.
