Incident

Marshal Joseph Bullard was shot and killed by a man who he had arrested the previous day.

Marshal Bullard arrested the suspect for public intoxication and disorderly conduct. The next morning the suspect was released from police custody. He then shot and killed Marshal Bullard.

The suspect was arrested and later convicted of murder. He was sentenced to life in prison.
